[May 1968 Student Rebellion].
Group of seven silkscreen posters. Sizes vary. 1968.
During the early days of massive protests that swept through France in 1968, art students occupied the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. They used the school's lithographic presses to create protest posters which were plastered all over the city. Eventually they switched to the much faster and more nimble form of silk-screening the posters. The simple images remain as an ethos of the era, symbols of the power of graphic design and a reminder of the strength of propaganda.
